Paul is a Project Director, Design Principal and the Theatre Consultancy Lead at Plann Limited.
For over thirty years Paul has worked in the cultural and creative industries, most prominently as a specialist consultant operating in the large-scale capital construction market. His particular specialisms include the design and delivery of arts and entertainment buildings, creative installations and kinetic architecture.
Prior to joining Plann, Paul was a Director at US-based stage engineering specialists TAIT Towers, tasked with expanding their architecture-to-engineering offer into Europe through their UK-based acquisition TAIT Stage Technologies.
Before working with TAIT, Paul was the UK Studio Principal of global theatre consultants Charcoalblue LLP. As UK Studio Principal, Paul was charged with promoting innovation in design and has had the privilege of developing the concepts for many prestigious architectural projects. In several cases Paul went on to manage the teams realising those original design concepts.
Paul has particular expertise in working with high-profile clients and has worked with some of the worlds most prominent architectural practices. Many of the projects led by Paul during his time at Charcoalblue have gone on to be recognised by the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Before moving into consultancy Paul worked in the professional theatre sector in the UK, where he received extensive training before moving into technical, venue and general management with some of the sectors highest-profile brands.
Paul is a member of The Institute of Theatre Consultants, a member of the Association of British Theatre Technicians, is CSCS Construction Skills Certified and City & Guilds 5240 Graphic Communications qualified.
